Playing Experience:

Born and raised in Eritrea, soccer has always been at the heart of my life. I grew up playing in the streets of my neighborhood, where I developed my creativity, grit, and passion for the game. In high school, I slotted into the defensive midfield (#6) role for Sawa Secondary School, playing as the team's defensive anchor and link on the field. The pinnacle of my playing experience was leading our squad into the National High School League during my senior year, where we fought all the way to finish as National Finalists.

Coaching Experience:

I moved to the US in 2009 and wanted to become a coach, so I started taking my coaching courses. After completing my E license, I was hired to coach for Alexandria Soccer Association from 2013 to 2023.  During this time, I coached U9–U16 age groups and progressively advanced through all tiers of competitive youth soccer, culminating in my role as an MLS NEXT Head Coach. 

I’m a lifelong student of the game. I hold USSF E, D, and C licenses and am a current candidate for the USSF B License. I also hold futsal level 1 and level 2 licenses.
During my time with ASA I was awarded Veteran Coach of the Year in 2018, won regional championships with the 2007 Red boys as an assistant coach in 2019, and was a state cup finalist with the 2008 and 2007 boys Red teams as a head coach.

Alongside team coaching, I started private soccer training in 2016 and have been doing it for the last 10 years. During this time I’ve coached players of different levels from recreational to academy, ECNL, and MLS NEXT. I enjoy working with my players and seeing them develop all aspects of their game.
