Playing Experience

Coach Nik grew up in Northern Virginia and played club soccer for RFC where they won 6 state cup titles. Over the Summers Nik would return to Slovenia, where he was born, to train with the Slovenian Youth National Teams. During that time he also played H.S. soccer for Robinson where he was awarded 1st team All-Met as well as Northern Virginia Player of the Year honors in his senior season. Nik went on to accept a scholarship at American University where he was a 4 year starter and received 1st team all-patriot league honors. In his first two summers of college he captained D.C. United's U-20 team to back national semi-finals appearances.

Coaching Experience

Directly out of college Nik accepted an assistant coaching position at Dematha H.S. where they had an undefeated season and won their first national championship for soccer in school history. During that time Nik worked on his coaching licenses as well as head coaching teams at both Bethesda Soccer Club and Alexandria Soccer Association. Over the summers Nik continued his coaching education by accepting an assistant coaching role with D.C. United's U-23 and was able to gain some pro level experience. In 2012 Nik helped co-found PPA and in 2016 launched their premier soccer program. Since then Nik has been working with the top PPA teams and has led the 2009 Boys to 3 state cup titles in a row from 2021-23 as well as a 2010 state cup title in 2024.
